SLN (straigh-line depreciation)

SLN Function

Computes the straight-line depreciation of an asset for one period.

Syntax

SLN(scalar Cost, scalar SalvageValue, scalar YearsUsefulLife)

Arguments

Argument	Description
scalar Cost	Initial cost of asset
scalar SalvageValue	Asset's value at the end of its life
scalar YearsUsefulLife	Number of periods over which asset is to be depreciated (that is, asset's useful life)

Examples:

SLN(10000, 5000, 5)

Returns the deprication of an asset that cost $10,000, with salvage value of $5000. the useful life of asset is 5 years.
