Configuration

1. System Configuration

Operating System

  • Windows 10 (64-bit) or later.
  • Ensure Windows is updated with the latest security patches and updates.

Hardware Requirements

  • CPU: Intel i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 7/9 (multi-core processors recommended).
  • RAM: Minimum 16 GB (32 GB or more recommended for large projects).
  • GPU: Dedicated NVIDIA or AMD graphics card with at least 4 GB VRAM (8 GB recommended).
  • Storage: High-speed SSD; NVMe SSD preferred for optimal performance.
  • Display: Minimum Full HD (1920×1080); 4K display recommended for detailed visualization.

Drivers

  • Keep GPU drivers up to date using official NVIDIA or AMD releases.
  • Install Leica USB drivers if scanner connectivity is required.

2. Software Configuration

Installation

  • Download the installer from the Leica MyWorld Portal.
  • Run the installer with administrator privileges.
  • Install the software on an SSD to achieve better performance.

Licensing

  • Manage licenses using Leica Geosystems CLM (Common License Manager).
  • Configure either online or offline license activation.
  • Enable license borrowing when using REGISTER 360+ in field environments.

Database & Project Settings

  • Define a default project storage location (preferably on an SSD).
  • Enable automatic project backups.
  • Configure database integrity checks, especially for large datasets.

3. Application Configuration

Preferences

  • Set measurement units (metric or imperial) based on project requirements.
  • Adjust display settings such as point size, shading, and rendering quality.
  • Configure autosave intervals to minimize the risk of data loss.

Import and Export Settings

  • Configure supported file formats (LGS, E57, PTS, PTX, RCP, and others).
  • Set default export templates for TruView, JetStream, and point cloud outputs.

Performance Optimization

  • Enable GPU acceleration in the application preferences.
  • Adjust memory usage based on available system RAM.
  • For large datasets, work with smaller regions of interest to improve responsiveness.

4. Network & Collaboration Configuration

Shared Environments

  • Integrate REGISTER 360+ with Cyclone ENTERPRISE to support collaborative workflows.
  • Configure shared network storage paths for team-based project access.

JetStream Integration

  • Set up connectivity with JetStream Enterprise for publishing and sharing data.
  • Ensure that server and client versions are compatible.

5. Best Practices

  • Keep REGISTER 360+ updated with the latest software patches.
  • Store autosave and backup files on a separate drive from the main project data.
  • Use high-performance hardware (SSD storage and dedicated GPU) for large-scale projects.
  • Maintain documented configuration standards to ensure consistency across teams.
