1. Updates

Definition

  • Updates are minor releases that include bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance enhancements.

Application

  • Download updates from the MyWorld Leica Geosystems Portal.
  • Install available patches and service packs when prompted by the application.

Verification

  • Verify the installed version by navigating to Help > About in the application.
  • Compare the version number with Leica’s official release notes to ensure it is up to date.

2. Upgrades

Definition

  • Upgrades involve major version changes, such as moving from REGISTER 360

Planning

  • Review release documentation and updated system requirements before upgrading.
  • Validate compatibility with outputs such as LGS, TruView, and JetStream.
  • Confirm that any add-on modules or third-party integrations are supported in the new version.

Upgrade Process

  • Download the installer from the MyWorld Leica Geosystems Portal.
  • Back up all active and critical projects prior to starting the upgrade.
  • Run the installer and migrate project databases if required.
